Hello,
Last weekend, I got things to do in Gangnam and I decided to go to eat Dak-galbi (A.K.A. Korean Spicy stir-fried Chicken) in Gangnam, which is never got tired of eating anytime. I haven't ate Dak-galbi near Gangnam Station, so I was thinking a lot about where to go, and I went to Jang-in Dak-galbi(Jang-in in korean means 'Master'). And I was also heard that the place is a fine-casual restaurant (meaning very costly effective haha :)
It was located close to exit 11 of Gangnam Station, so it was not difficult to find. Usually, Restaurants in Gangnam is very hard to find their location (Very complicated city).
As introduced earlier, this restaurant has very good cost effectiveness. The price is very good compared with other restaurants in Gangnam. Even if you visit the restaurant for a gathering, you don't have to worry about making a large order. Price is KRW 9,500 per serving (Around USD 8). Generally speaking, it is hard to find food with less USD 10 per serving in Gangnam.
When ordering Dak-galbi, you can choose the taste (spicy level) according to your personal preference. Making the spicy taste selectable is a very good option for those who are not good at eating spicy.
There are 3 spicy flavour options.
Not spicy (Korean - Soon han Mat) - Usually recommended for foreigners or people who are not good at eating spicy.
Medium spicy (Korean - Joong Gan Mat) - Many Koreans usually take this option
Very spicy (Mae woon Mat) - Universally killing our tongue. If you are not afraid of eating Very spicy Tteok-bok-ki, this option would not be a problem of you.
I'm not good at spicy one, so I prefer the medium spicy flavour with Mozzarella cheese(this is also an additional option).
Can you see the mozzarella cheese between Dak-galbi? What a this visual! But we needed little patience because it took time(3~4 more minutes) to be cooked evenly and the cheese has to be melt.
You can make 'SSAM' meaning wrapped in lettuce. It's simple. put one lettuce on your hand and pick and put the chicken and cheese on the lettuce and lastly wrapping them.
Fried rice is an optional choice after eating Dak-galbi all. Rice, seaweed and little vegetable is mixed with the sauce left on the pan. In my experience with foreigner, it's either love it or hate it. But I would like to recommend you to try one if you don't get full enough.
